for example (under windows7, but I think it is non relevant) I have selected 2 laps, same time, if you watch the Delta(T) it seems there is a point in which I earn about 1 sec and immediatly after I loose 1 sec. It is impossible.

Interesting - I've looked at the file.

It is ENTIRELY possible for you to lose time like this

Have a look at this screenshot:



It's obvious that the blue trace is gaining time - over a second by the time the braking is finished. But, now look at the lines subsequently taken:



OK, so the blue trace is taking a different line, so what? Now look at it on the track:



By going into the chicane so fast, you have compromised the exit to the extent that all the time you gained previously is lost. The first apex is missed, you've had to brake too hard and the second apex is missed - therefore the advantage disappears immediately.

On the other hand, the red trace has made the chicane into a much straighter line and whilst it doesn't approach so fast, it has maintained a higher speed overall and is able to get on the gas quicker as it exits the chicane.

The biggest difference in speed during this passage is a rather massive 18kmh... Just shows how easy it is to lose a lot of time from one simple mistake.

Thks for your answer Mike.
Of course, I understand that the Video Box users are the target users of this software.
But as a Performance box user, I will be glad to use this very useful software, instead of the couple Performance Tools + RaceChrono2Avi.
Would it be possible that you send me a sample of files issued from a VideoBox in order that I try the software and also look if I can adapt my files to the same extension ?

The .vbo uses a header to point to the the .avi. This contains the file name and some sync times, but there is also sync data for key frames all the way through the .vbo. This would be imposible to create manually and so i'm affraid you're not going to have any joy trying to relate a .avi and .vbo.

Sure, I do not want to spend my time to link the avi to the vbo
I thought it would be possible to make it with Excel formular for exemple.
So, I hope that for the future you will add a fonction to this software for the Performance Box users to link their own videos. It is a much nicer solution as using Trackvision.

Quick update and rather important: if you are using Circuit Tools with a .dbn file as recorded by a DriftBox or PerformanceBox, DO NOT USE the 'save session data' button - there is a bug that will overwrite some of the data in the file.

We've fixed it and a new version will be released next week.

Actually it is easy task for someone familiar with AVI file format.

From cost of work perspective it is chipper to find some 3rd party software which will overlay .vbo data over video.
